Role Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and maintenance of databases across various environments such as development, testing, production, and training.
- Oversee the installation and upgrades of databases, ensuring PSU and CPU patching is completed on schedule.
- Manage and resolve complex Oracle environments with multiple instances and servers, while providing 24x7 support as needed.
- Ensure database availability by using RMAN for backup and recovery operations, and performing database reorganizations to optimize performance.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database alerts, ensuring issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate with Oracle Corporation for high-level technical support, and liaise with internal and external IT teams to resolve issues.
- Provide strategic guidance and lead database-related projects, including migrations, disaster recovery, and upgrades.
- Actively participate in performance tuning and optimization of Oracle PL/SQL, leveraging expertise in Oracle Restart, SEHA, and Data Guard.
- Support operating systems such as Linux, Windows, and AIX, with scripting experience in RHEL.
- 5+ years of experience in Oracle Database Administration, managing Oracle versions 12c and 19c, including pluggable and multitenant databases.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle Standard and Enterprise Editions, Oracle PL/SQL, and RMAN backup/recovery.
- Strong expertise in Oracle Restart, SEHA, and Data Guard for database high availability.
- Proficient in database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Expertise in Linux OS scripting, with proficiency in RHEL for database maintenance and automation.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to work collaboratively across global teams.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale, mission-critical Oracle databases in a 24x7 environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including off-hours and weekends, to provide support as part of an on-call rota.
- Hybrid Working: You can work remotely for up to 50 days each year.
