Product architect & Systems Engineering Métier Manager

Description - External

Management & Competency

• Manage his organization
• Manage his team of engineers and technicians (yearly reviews, meetings, missions, objectives)
• Define the necessary qualifications for his team according to the benchmark and to the technical and technological evolutions
• Ensure that competency level is at the level requested to properly handle new/future projects and new/future Technologies (in line with TDP). Identify gaps, define and implement the proper action plan. Responsible for training action plan achievement on his team.
• Allocate his staff in the various projects and support the Project team in priorities management.
• Propose trainings and career evolutions
• Responsible of recruitment of the members of his department
• Participate in the Valeo Expertise process by preparing and proposing candidates.
  
  

Budget

• Responsible for his department's budget; build, propose and follow his budget. Ensure on a monthly basis that Headcount (Internal/SC/TC/GEEDS) are aligned with Budget.
• Participate in project budget construction. Contribute to the quotation of R&D budget (during CAA and/or IAR) in terms of resources (hours), equipment, investments for P0, P1 and P10 projects for his metier.
• Accountable for budgeted hours approved in CAA and/or IAR in his metier.
• Control spending By Project and implement corrective actions when deviation is occuring.
• Responsible for workload forecast in his métier.
• Propose yearly investment plan. Define and standardize investment (Equipments, licences,...) to be integrated in yearly Budget
• Responsible for the Department efficiency using the Efficiency Plan / KPIs built together with the Product Architect and Systems Engineering Discipline Director.
  
  

Process, Methodology, Tools, Equipment

• Participate to the definition of, and implement the process, methods and the tools necessary to properly handle new/future projects and new/future Technologies (in line with TDP)
• Deploy the Engineering process, methodology and tools defined by / together with the Métier Mngr / Dir
• Ensure the full deployment of 5 axes methodology
• Support the Certification process (Audits, ASpice, …)
  
  

Networking

• Participate to and support the Product Architecture and Systems Engineering network
• Participate to the improvement of the standards, methods & tools related to Product Architecture and Systems Engineering
  
  

Standardization & Robust Design

• Support RAISE team by ensuring knowledge, training and implementation of the standards
• Participates in the elaboration of standards with RAISE and actively participate to Design reviews
• Review and challenge Destandardization requests before release
• Ensure all Projects are 100% covered by regular Métier Design Reviews and monitor appropriate Action Plan follow up (under RAISE coordination)
• Lead the review of RED Box Incident after detection from Design Review Process
• Ensure that each single design is achieving the highest level of Robust design.
  
  

Resources / Footprint

• Centralize information on all existing resources in his region
• Define the assignment of resources for a new project and support the project team in priorities management.
• Identify, create synergies and ensure optimum use of all resources
• Identify the needs in terms of dedicated and shared resources. Organize the availability of shared resources
• Continuously work with the Métier Product Architecture and Systems Engineering discipline director to improve footprint and performances.
