Position: HSE Executive (Health, Safety & Environment)
Reporting to: HSE Incharge
No. of Direct Reports: Nil
No. of Indirect Reports: Nil
Key Purpose Of The Job
The HSE Executive is responsible for executing health, safety, environment activities in the organization and ensure documentation in compliance with applicable certifications, regulations and standards. The role holder is responsible to ensure that safety standards are followed and maintained at all times in the organization.
Educational Qualification / Experience Required
Indicative Tasks
Responsible for submission of returns, filing of reports etc. within stipulated time, norms, ensuring adherence and compliance to all statutory regulations
Responsible for Fire Extinguishers in the unit; including records, refilling schedule, AMC maintenance etc.
Carry out Aspect Impact studies as per plan and requirements to understand environment impacts on the organization
Coordinate Safety Committee meetings periodically as per schedule
Conduct risk assessment as per plan and defined methods
Periodically suggest improvements in HSE system to optimize employee safety from day to day observations and activities
Perform miscellaneous tasks, as necessary for the function, to contribute in organization health, safety and environment requirements
Ensure availability of, and distribute safety equipment to all employees, including gloves, goggles, earplugs, masks, etc.
Ensure emergency equipment such as gumboots, jackets, warming tapes, helmets etc. is kept in stock, and is ready for use based on requirements
Ensure validity, renewals, refills of fire fighting equipment, lifting equipments, and others
Coordinate with external agencies, vendors for execution of AMC plans as per budget, schedule and SLAs
Provide training on Fire safety and accident reporting protocol
Ensure action plans from safety committee meetings action are carried out as discussed
Identify and take measures to correct any unsafe acts / conditions observed during physical rounds in the plant premises
Create awareness amongst employees on safety issues and propagate through posters, safety programs, etc.
Maintain and keep records of all legal documents such as license, certifications, others
Prepare, collate and ensure submission of all forms, reports and paperwork required by external authorities
Maintain accident statistics and records of medical injuries sustained in the course of work
Update and maintain registers, as necessary
Prepare consolidated expense report for the function on a monthly basis
Be responsible for update of safety training records and action statistics
Liaise with vendors for safety equipment and materials
Liaise with concerned authorities in the Pollution Control Board, OHSAS etc. as and when necessary

- Graduate / Post Graduate degree in any discipline; certified in health / safety / environment / ISO related areas
- Experience of around 3 to 5 years in Health & Safety function
- Should have handled regulatory and statutory compliance documentation
- Provide operational support to OHS & Environmental Incharge in development and maintenance of health, safety and environmental systems and related practices
- Be in charge of purchase and disbursement of safety equipments to all employees across the organization
- Impart relevant Safety, First Aid & Fire management training to employees
- Update and maintain all databases, records and reports in an organized and systematic manner
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external authorities to ensure completion of activities
