Want to work on one of the fastest growing areas within the products at Oracle? Sales and Service Cloud! We are currently looking for a DevOps Engineer to join the Sales and Service Cloud. As Oracle continues to aggressively move towards a full range of Cloud Solutions we want you to join our team and directly be responsible for supporting, developing, and delivering these solutions.

Our department is Sales and Service DevOps within the Sales and Service Engineering organization. Our team produces various software tools that Oracle uses to monitor production availability, patch the SaaS fleet, manage internal environments, and data mine to provide metric reporting on behalf of our Oracle Cloud Customers. Monitoring production and supporting post maintenance testing of services is an integral tool for Operations to ensure availability for customers. We operate using agile principles and currently have teams located in Canada, U.S. and India.

Responsibilities

As a member of the Sales and Service team, you will rarely experience two identical days. With a fleet of thousands of environments spanning multiple releases many types of customer issues arise, but this team specializes in solving the most challenging of those issues with completeness and excellence by driving to the root of problems. People that thrive in this environment are excellent communicators and build key relationships as aside artifact of the quality of their work and follow through. A high level of access to customer environments is available to this role at both the front end (UI) and back end (OS) and with it comes a daily necessity of applying business ethics, best practices, and the consistency principles of a SaaS deliverable. In addition to the issue resolution portion of the position there are several development projects assigned to the team which help bring visibility to how the software is used in the fleet in addition to where the 'hot spots' are.

In this role, you will analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Write code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications with focus on Automation, driving the effort for Continuous Integration and Delivery.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex, needing independent judgment and follow through. Fully competent in own area of expertise. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Job Responsibilities

• Have an “Automate Everything” mindset to support scalable growth
• Design and implement application solutions to complex problems
• Engage in architecture design and reviews; emphasis on automation, testing, deployments and pipelines, ci/cd, and hands on development
• Research and design projects
• Provide technical guidance and drive projects with an Automation focus for DevOps
• SaaS best practice policies
• Contribute to the creation of system support documents
• Collaborate with other areas (Operations, Performance, Middleware, Release Management) as necessary to obtain efficient solutions in addition to driving more strategic efforts that involve the fleet
• Estimate tasks and meet milestones and deadlines appropriately while reporting progress to management
• Conduct periodic on call duties
  
  
  

Experience:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
• 3 + Years in Software Development specific to Enterprise software
• Experience with Java, Python
• Proven track record of design and development and implementation in with various facets of enterprise software including migration, scalability, flexibility/configuration, and performance
• Ability to gather requirements for a problem statement, understand the use cases and workflow, design and implement application solutions to such problems
• Cloud Platform administration experience
• Experience with Terraform, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD principles
• Knowledge of Linux operating system
• Development skills with UNIX (bash, unix commands, etc)
• Deep understanding of networking and application load balancing concepts and technologies
• Understanding of protocols/technologies like HTTP, SSL, LDAP, ASP.NET, SQL, HTML, XML, JSON, SFTP, VPN (IPSEC/ISAKMP)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
• Capable of working independently and efficiently
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects at a time with individuals from multiple departments regions and cultures
• Leadership experience is an asset
• Note – Candidate must be willing/able to work from Oracle’s Thiruvananthapuram (or Bengaluru) office.
