Advanced Mech Design Engineer

Position Description

We are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to work on creating and enabling value on complex and futuristics aerospace products using core mechanical engineering skills.

Job Expectation

• Experience on Value Engineering/ Component Engg projects for Mechanical systems/ sub-systems.
• Must have experience in Engineering change Request and Engineering change order implementation using a PLM tool like Teamcenter
• Candidate is expected to have good knowledge in mechanical design with the ability to use this knowledge on VE/ CE ideation in mechanical component/ packaging design, preferably in, Valve components, Heat Exchangers, air conditioners, refrigeration units – for Air and thermal Systems or similar product lines.
• Good global cross functional and possible project engineering skills to coordinate and work with Regulatory, Sourcing, Manufacturing and Quality along with other cross functional teams.
• Knowledge of NPI / Product Development Life Cycle – Material selection, Component/ Assembly Drawings, Manufacturing and Assembly Processes (Basic and Advanced)
• Handle product re-engineering projects enabling value to the product, understand Marketing requirements and work with project team on product specifications
• Product Design skills with Problem solving and analytical capability
• Experience on Six Sigma methodology & Statistical Analysis: GD & T, Tolerance Analysis, DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly)
• Good Knowledge in Drafting Standards especially ASME Y14.100, ASME Y14.5
• Have good understanding on different manufacturing processes like plastic injection molding, metal parts machining, casting, sheet metal process, joining methodologies (crimping, welding, brazing, soldering) and encapsulation methodologies and basic tool design exposure is essential.
• Good knowledge on Material selection (Engineering Plastics, Rubber & Metals) and mechanical hardware selection such as Screws, gaskets, O rings and other sealing elements
• Expertise in 3D Modeling and Parametric Detailing in, preferably, NX/ nTopology or any other
  
  

You Must Have

B.E / M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

EXPERIENCE: 6-10 years in development, value engineering of complex mechanical products

• Experience in Value engineering and component engineering. Knowledge on Value engineering methodologies.
• Knowledge of should-costing practices.
• Knowledge on RTCA/ DO-160 regulatory requirements
• Excellent coordinating and interacting skills, particularly, with cross functional teams spread globally
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent problem analysis, judgment and technical decision-making skills
• Excellent implementation skills like Planning, Estimation, Execution and Quality check
