Key Skills: Design Engineer, Calculation

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform strength calculations for static equipment, such as pressure vessels and heat exchangers, as per codes like ASME Sec VIII Div-1, EN 13455, AS 1210, TEMA, API 660, etc.
• Evaluate localized stresses using WRC 107/297 or FEA (Finite Element Analysis).
• Conduct wind and seismic calculations as per various international codes.
• Perform rigging analysis and design lifting lugs, tailing lugs, and trunnions.
• Review vendor calculations for waste heat recovery systems and FRP/GRP vessels.
• Provide weight estimates for proposal engineering during the pre-order stage.
• Guide CAD designers and drafters technically.
• Review internal and vendor drawing submittals.
• Resolve technical queries by communicating effectively with global counterparts.
• Ensure rigorous peer reviews to enhance engineering quality.
• Foster clear technical communication with customers.
• Initiate and coordinate engineering activities for packages.
• Assist project, sales, and design teams on technical aspects.

Experience Requirments:

• 5-10 years in design and engineering of static equipment, stacks, piping, and large steel structures.
• Familiarity with US design codes (ASCE-7, AISC 360, ASME STS-1/BPV/B31.3) and international codes (Eurocodes, AS/NZ, IS Codes).
• Proficiency in software: COMPRESS, Pv-Elite, CodeCalc, MecaStack, PRG Software, ANSYS.
• Basic knowledge of welding, fabrication processes, engineering layouts, and specifications.
• Ability to interpret fabrication drawings and understand material standards.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with customers, vendors, inspection agencies, and consultants.
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal).

• Knowledge of an additional European language (Italian, French, German).
• Experience with STAAD Pro for steel structure design.
• Piping stress analysis using CAESAR II software.
• Experience with ANSYS for static structural analysis.
• Expertise in fatigue and thermal-induced fatigue analysis on pressure vessels.
• Familiarity with layout engineering during model review stages.
• Design experience with vertical steel structures subjected to flow-induced vibrations.
• Business acumen for cost-effective solutions aligned with customer specifications.

Education: B.E in Mechanical Engineering.
