The Senior HSE Engineer is responsible for implementation of Health, Safety & Environment policies and standards across Honeywell. The role is responsible for ensuring compliance to legal standards and corporate policies and procedures. The Senior HSE engineer is responsible for ‘Management of Change’, ‘Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment’, performing ‘Root cause analysis’, ‘Safety audits/Inspections’ and conducting periodic HSE training programs.
Business Connect
Ø Conducts periodic meetings with Business/Site leaders to create awareness, understand concerns, and challenges and develop / review action plan for risk mitigation / improvement.
Ø Provides support to business units in achieving site HSE program implementation maturity by providing procedural training on HSE requirements and conducting periodic HSE assessments.
Strategizing & Planning
Ø Strategize program implementation for the site in line with corporate HSEMS program requirements and establish governance mechanism for monitoring the performance periodically.
Ø Develop annual “Management Action Plan” for the site based on risk profile and data trend and monitor the implementation through various stakeholder’s
Ø Guide and provide day to day support to all other HSE staff at the respective site / sites to ensure that the HSE program implementation at the site is enhanced to next level of excellence.
Execution Impact
Ø Ensuring that all project work activities are implemented in accordance with the Corporate and HTS HSE Policies and Procedures and industry best practices where applicable by effective governance.
Ø Participate in conducting periodic site HSE inspections/Gemba/Audit and identify gaps in programs / procedures / activities and ensure effective closure through Management System Tool.
Ø Providing advice / recommendations, facilitating program implementation through “employee involvement” by supporting / training HSE Champions, element owners, etc., in activities such as Risk Assessment, Job Hazard Analysis, Incident Investigation and analysis, remediation etc.,
Ø Facilitate Incident Investigations in identifying root cause and develop action plan to prevent reoccurrence and monitor the closure.
Ø Ensures periodic updating and review of HSE metrics in corporate tool and provide necessary inputs / action plans for sustenance and improvement.
Ø Ensures periodic servicing and satisfactory upkeep of all critical to health and safety assets.
Ø Review contractor activities at the site and conduct period Gemba / Audit of work permits. Conduct /contribute in contractor HSE qualification and annual review of the contractor performance.
Ø Follows event reporting procedure and event investigations, checks any work-related injuries report and ensures closure of corrective action by coordinating with corporate “Area Health and Safety Manager” and “Regional HSE Manager”
Ø Facilitate pre-audit and audit of waste vendor qualification as per corporate guidelines and ensure effective and appropriate handling and disposal of all Hazardous waste in line with local regulations.
Ø Conducts review of all fire protection system modification with GRC team and provide necessary recommendations for new/modified fire protection, detection and suppression system
Ø Conducts periodic review of compliance to all applicable statutory licenses / permits /Acts and Rules / and ensure returns, submissions are filed in time and documented.
Ø Prepares budgets in accordance to the “Annual Operating Plans” and ensures budget controls and monitoring considering ways for continuous improvement of HSE performance and HSE best practices.

Ø Ensures regular site walkthrough with all stakeholders including, business leaders, facility & administration team and participate in TAM and other business meetings.
Ø Conducts regular trainings as per the pre-planned schedule and ensures HSE induction training for new joiners
Ø Collaborates with logistic team for invoice and gate pass preparation for “Disposal of Hazardous Waste & E-waste as and when it generates
Ø Ensures Vendor Management, monitors delivery by the vendors, consultants and contractors as per the desired standards and timely releasing of purchase orders etc.
