You will be a part of team of in-house go-to experts assisting our support engineers in the field, providing technical consultation for critical escalated issues. You will be working with a group of enthusiastic, high spirited, and smart working individuals, who encourage each other to bring out the best to build a world-class product in Pega infinity customer success space, The team follows the "work hard play hard" mindset. You will have exposure to building a smart solution to real-time problems direct from customers and scaling the solution to building key features enhancements that enhance the existing version of the product where we use our technology to power many parts of our business. Picture Yourself At Pega

In this role, you will engage deeply in maintaining core features of Pega platform which runs thousands of CRM and DPA applications around the world. For the core Pega Infinity platform area, you will be working closely with key SMEs to share your analysis and recommendations. You will spend your time sharpening debugging and troubleshooting tools and enhancing the Infinity Platform where required to keep it current with Industry demands. You will get experience working with both monolithic and modularized code, giving you a unique opportunity to compare both worlds at one place. Follow best practices to build clean and maintainable code.

What You'll Do At Pega

• You will start by learning about Pega platform and use it to rapidly build a sample application
• Analyse and debug the Pega platform engine features in depth and Learn to use team owned features in detail like, Thread and requestor management, Node classification, URL management etc..
• Understand design and implementation of your product area.
• Sharpshoot critical issues in the field.
• Assisting field support engineers in customer calls, troubleshooting their issues in integration and implementation of Pega platform. This involves code error diagnosis, debugging, troubleshooting.
• Understand design and implementation of your product area, Own quality and maintenance of your product area.
• Write automated tests for code changes made to fix issues , do root cause analysis for high severity issues, to isolate problem areas within your product area.
• Actively collaborate with Pega Infinity Engineering and Sustaining teams and Product owner to come up with backward compatible and targeted solutions for keeping platform current with the industry demands.
• Create and curate knowledge base articles and improve documentation.
• Be a humble and trusted engineer for our hardworking team members.
• Use various tools, languages and libraries like Git, Gradle, Docker, Jenkins, IntelliJ, Linux, Java, JUnit, cloud technologies.
  
  

Who You Are

You are a skilled software engineer, who can explore, understand, develop, and debug complex Java code quickly. You enjoy solving problems, you can quickly assess them, find the root cause and provide innovative solutions to fix them. You take quality seriously and write automated tests for all code you write. You enjoy exploring the latest developments and best practices in the software industry and apply them at work. You love to dive deep into Java and JVM to build a deeper and broader understanding of its semantics and workings. You are a good team player who puts team first, can collaborate with and guide other team members. You are extremely zealous in doing retrospection and root cause analysis. You take constructive feedback with an open mind and work to continuously improve yourself. You are a self-starter and a self-learner. You are proactive in assigning work to yourself and in exploring new areas.

What You've Accomplished

• 3 – 4 years of software development/maintenance experience, preferably in a product development company.
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science engineering or similar field.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented JS programming and design, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD).
• Strong Experience in debugging backend applications and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Agile/Scrum development methodology knowledge/experience
• Good to have Experience in Thread and Requestor management, Node classification, URL management etc.
• Customer oriented, enthusiastic, courteous, assertive and motivated to take charge of both customer engagement and problem resolution.
• Experience using the following: Java, JUnit, IntelliJ/Eclipse, Jenkins, Linux.
• Exposure to-Git, Gradle, Docker, Jenkins, IntelliJ/Eclipse, Linux, Java, JUnit, Groovy technologies.
