Required Skills
- 8 - 14 years experience as a ServiceNow Discovery.
- Responsible for ServiceNow Discovery activities (Cloud and On-Prem) and supports ServiceNow Service Mapping Activities.
- Responsible for creating/updating discovery patterns to discover the Cis.
- Monitors discovery and service mapping results, reconciling and addressing any anomalies.
- Works with Service Owners and SMEs to ensure that accurate service maps are discovered and maintained.
- Fundamental understanding of networking including TCP/IP ports, firewalls, Network Protocols and IP networks.
- Expert level understanding of CMDB classes
- Working knowledge on clearing CMDB discovery related issues such as duplicate CIs, Port Issues and permission issues etc.
- Implementation/Design of CMDB MID Servers. Proactively plans capacity of ServiceNow MID servers and maintains and configures appropriately.
- Maintenance and clustering of MID servers.
- Creates and maintains custom patterns, probes, and sensors to accommodate internal discovery requirements.
- Basic understanding of Linux/Unix commands, SUDO permissions and other OS environments
- Implementation of cloud based discovery (internal & external) and discovery for other CI types.
- Establishes, monitors and maintains discovery schedules.
- Ensures that horizontal discovery and service mapping products are highly available, reliable, and performant.
- Hands-on knowledge on ServiceNow version migration/upgradation and UAT testing.
- Participates in platform upgrade planning, testing, and validation.
- Strong knowledge on ServiceNow modules like AMDB, CMDB, Service Mapping and other ITSM.
- Exposure to third-party tools for integrations like SCCM, Orchestration, Qualys, Orion and similar tool set.
- Scripting knowledge for customization (good to have) not mandatory as we have other in house developers.
- May participate in projects including preparing project plans, assigning tasks, monitoring statuses, coordinating efforts, validating team recommendations, integrating efforts into a comprehensive strategy and delivering results on time.
- Create/Maintain ServiceNow discovery documentation/standard operating procedures documents.
- Writes and/or reviews system specifications, including output requirements, flow charts and technical diagrams.
- ServiceNow Discovery, ServiceNow Admin, ServiceNow Implementation.
- ServiceNow: Discovery, CMDB, Service Mapping, Implementation, Admin
- ITSM/CMDB/ITOM Certifications.
