About Veracity

The Veracity Industry Cloud Platform helps our customers with the necessary digital tools and platform capabilities for cohesive data-driven solutions. Veracity has a strong presence in Norway, Poland and China, providing digital expertise with high quality and efficiency. From ideation to creation, we help our customers to build and maintain their digital service or product on the Veracity platform. We provide an experienced and competent team who will support our customers digital journey through all the stages of their product’s development and maintenance.

About The Role

The Global Engineering unit is responsible for the development, maintenance and operation of the Veracity platform as well as building an application network consisting of data intensive industry applications. Our global team has a capacity of 180 people and is distributed across multiple locations.

As Head of Engineering India, you will build and develop a team that contributes to delivering our Veracity Platform as well as Consulting Services. You will work closely with the various Product Lines, Delivery teams, Enabling teams and managers in other locations. Your responsibilities include leading the Engineering India team, including recruitment, competence development, innovation, and inspiring the team to continuously improve their ways of working.

Your leadership will be pivotal in ensuring high-quality software delivery, transparency and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will work closely with peers, other Veracity units and Business Areas to ensure the delivery of solutions meets the highest standards of performance, security, and scalability.

In this role, you will also be responsible for setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and creating an inclusive environment where team members feel valued and empowered to do their best.

Your ability to navigate complex technical challenges will be essential in steering the various team members towards achieving our ambitious goals. Additionally, you will work together with the Global Engineering Leadership team to ensure that our software engineering practices are consistent and aligned with the industry’s best practices. You will play a key role in strengthening DNV as brand within software engineering segments India.

This position is located in our great DNV Pune office. You will report to Head of Global Engineering and will be a member of the Global Engineering Management Team.

You have experience in Software Engineering, technology and line management. You are an enabler for flow, proactively identify opportunities and act as a force multiplier for the Veracity organization.

Responsibilities And Key Tasks

  • Contribute to the Veracity Software Engineering Strategy
  • Collaborate with other Engineering units, Product Lines, Delivery teams, and Enabling teams
  • Foster a ‘learn it all’ culture with continuous competence development
  • Ensure focus on security and quality in all parts of the operation
  • Facilitate collaboration with key functions and stakeholders
  • Manage the staff in the day-to-day performance of their job and perform all relevant finance and HR processes according to deadlines set
  • Recruit and manage contractors based on business needs
  • Drive adoption of continuous delivery, customer centricity and other practices that ensure timely delivery of value to our customers
  • Provide guidance and follow-up employees ensuring alignment with the overall goals and ambitions of Veracity and cross-regional standardization.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with a high level of experience in the following areas (several or all):

  • University degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong track record as line manager.
  • Good understanding of the Maritime and Energy business domain and how IT, software, data and analytics can contribute to its digital transformation.
  • Good overall understanding of technologies used in delivering data intensive industry applications.
  • Solid understanding of platform business models.
  • Experience in delivering software projects.
  • Proven ability to achieve results through others and utilize team competencies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across cultures.
  • Professional proficiency in English, written and oral.
