Head Corporate Finance

Role Description

The Corporate Finance team is focused on raising long term capital for Tata Steel from banks and markets, optimizing the capital structure, improving the covenants and tenor of the debt and by diversifying sources of financing on a continuous basis. The incumbent will be responsible for leading discussions with banks for financing of various capital requirements as well as building robust systems and processes for computation and monitoring of covenants laid down by different agreements. The incumbent will also undertake other corporate finance related activities for Tata Steel and its subsidiaries and associates. The incumbent will be required to regularly engage with domestic and international rating agencies, analyze the company’s performance in line with the credit rating agencies’ rating methodology for better positioning of the credit and communicate the company’s views effectively and in a timely manner. Interaction with internal teams will be necessary to understand the business case and recognizing constraints to be kept in mind while financing. The incumbent will be required to lead a team of 6-7 finance professionals.

• Ensure design and implementation of systems and processes to monitor and analyze financial covenants across TS Group, leading improvements in financing agreements, securing finance from new sources, diversifying capital raising and structuring opportunities es etc. and present it to senior management for further action
• Oversee the design of financial models for overall Group as well as entity-level profitability analysis
• Assess liquidity of the business on a regular basis and negotiate better terms with banks to optimize utilization of available cash and provide flexibility to the business
• Optimize debt and working capital funding structures for minimum interest cost to the business
• Monitor banking operations to ensure timely completion of procedures and process efficiency resulting in minimal operating costs and business ease
• Ensure preparation of monthly MIS and reporting for senior management
• Mentor and coach subordinates to develop the teams’ capabilities and build a strong succession pipeline for the role
  
  

Skills

Should have experience in analysing financial proposals or in fund-raising transactions, fund based and/or non-fund based.
