Job Summary
The AGM/DGM/GM of Production is responsible for timely manufacturing as per defined quality standards and efficiency norms, Also responsible for ensuring optimal utilization of all resources, proper upkeep of all assets and efficiency and safety in all manufacturing operations and for ensuring a conductive work environment in the plant.
Key Performance Area
- Capacity and Budget planning
- Adherence to production plan
- Operational efficiency – Machine and Capacity Utilization
- Manpower and Resource planning
- Waste optimization
- Adherence to quality
- Process improvement- 5S, Kaizen, QMS
- Organize all production and support operations to ensure that output and quality targets are achieved and that all relevant health, safety and hygiene standards are observed
- Design and implement systems and processes to bring out higher machine efficiencies, quality improvements and reduction in wastage on a continuous basis.
- Responsible for planning strategies for expansion of unit operations, capacity utilization, controlling of costs through scrap reduction and enhancing unit production capacities
- Plan manpower deployment along with HR team to achieve the production and maintenance targets
- Responsible for achievement of production targets as per the defined budgets
- Provide direction to the production team for effective operation and achievement of production targets
- Conduct regular detailed reviews with each department to understand and address any constraints or concerns or bottlenecks and ensure timely implementation.
- Coordinate with engineering department for resolution of any technical problem such as stoppage of machinery/ equipment’s, leakage, breakdown – address escalations and take corrective actions
- Plan and implement machine/ process engineering initiatives- identify ways to increase the production capacity through effective asset maintenance
- Ensure safety measures are consistently and strictly followed and take initiatives to enhance acceptance of safety as a culture so as to achieve zero accident level
- Create an environment that fosters innovation and creativity at the plant by facilitating Kaizens and value engineering
- Ensure implementation of the training calendar, jointly with HR and on the job training sessions for the operators
- Maintain skill level ratio within the workforce to meet internal norms
- Initiate and sustain development of multi-skilled workforce
- Manage the overall attrition levels in the Plant and ensure key talent is effectively retained with the support of HR
- Conduct effective performance appraisals for the team and identify training needs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of production processes
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or ERP systems
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- At least 12 to 16 years of experience in the industry or acting as a production lead role required.
