At Openhouse, we’re building a network of premium play-based learning centres across India, starting with Bangalore. Our centres offer preschool, childcare, and co-curricular activities for children aged 1-10 years, creating spaces where modern parents can nurture their children's social, emotional, and skill-building needs.
Since 2018, we’ve grown to 8 centres in Bangalore and Kolkata, impacting over 4000 families and mentoring 200+ educators. By January 2025, we’re adding 6 more centres to continue empowering young learners.
Role Overview
As a Finance Associate, you will manage and streamline financial operations, ensuring smooth finance processes by ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role involves handling daily financial tasks, collaborating with vendors and teams, ensuring timely compliances, preparation and analysis of MIS and supporting overall financial health of the Company. This role also involves strategic analysis and support on decision making through accurate financial reporting, budget management, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing budgets and forecasts, and analysing variances to support strategic decision-making with respect to cost management
- Coordinate vendors for payments, ensuring proper documentation and timelines
- Reconciliation of revenue receipts through various modes of payment
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations
- Maintain and update daily financial records with accuracy
- Work closely with centre teams to manage centre related financial processes
- Ensure TDS and GST compliances with respect to payments and receipts
- MIS Closure: Support in monthly closing of books by the required date for reporting to founders and investors
Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate will have working experience in finance, strong analytical abilities, and a proven track record in managing various financial functions.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related fields. Semi-qualified CA candidates may also be considered
- Experience: 1-3 years in finance or accounting roles. Articleship experience may also be considered
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS office (Excel, word), Google suit (Gmail, sheets, slides etc); familiarity with accounting software (preferably Zoho)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities for cross-functional collaboration
- Proactive and adaptable, with a problem-solving mindset
