Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Scraper to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in extracting large volumes of data from websites using scraping tools and techniques.
This role requires a strong understanding of programming languages and the ability to manipulate and organize raw data into structured formats for analysis and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Data Scraping:Extract and collect data from various websites and online platforms using web scraping techniques.
Write and optimize scraping scripts using Python, BeautifulSoup, Selenium, Scrapy, or similar tools.
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the extracted data.
Data Processing and Cleaning:Process and clean raw data to remove duplicates, errors, and irrelevant information.
Transform scraped data into structured formats (CSV, JSON, Excel, etc.) for further analysis.
Automation and Optimization:Develop and maintain automated scraping systems to handle large datasets efficiently.
Optimize scraping processes to improve speed and data retrieval accuracy.Data Management:Manage and store scraped data in secure databases or cloud storage.Ensure data privacy and compliance with relevant regulations.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance:Monitor and troubleshoot scraping tools to ensure the extraction process runs smoothly.Update scraping scripts as necessary to adapt to website changes (e.g., layout updates, anti-scraping measures).
Collaboration and Reporting:Collaborate with data analysts and business teams to understand data requirements.Provide regular updates on scraping projects, including potential issues or improvements.
Experience: 1.52 years of experience in web scraping or data extraction.
Skills
Proficiency in Python or other programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Ruby).
Strong experience with web scraping libraries and tools such as BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, and Selenium.
Familiarity with APIs and handling unstructured data.Experience with data storage technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, cloud storage solutions).
Knowledge of data cleaning and data manipulation.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Key CompetenciesExcellent attention to detail and ability to handle large datasets.Ability to work independently and manage multiple scraping projects.
Strong communication skills to report on progress and findings.
Familiarity with ethical data scraping and legal considerations (e.g., respect for robots.txt and website terms of service).
