About the role


  • Assistant Manager, Finance and Accounting, IndiaOver
  • The Assistant Accounting Manager, India is the key Finance & Accounting contact for all operations in India.
  • Key responsibilities will include compliance with all local financial regulation, preparation and delivery of the statutory accounts for the India entity, filing of VAT submissions, income tax filings, managing statutory and other audits etc.
  • This role will be based in India, and will report directly to the Controller, EMEA and Asia/Pacific Regions
  • The Assistant Accounting Manager will also be responsible for all contacts with local authorities, both for Finance as well as tax matters and other (statistical/Central bank reporting etc).
  • He/she will work in close collaboration with the external auditors and the tax team to this effect but will also have a direct connect with the Finance
  • Organization including treasury and AR/AP support where necessary.
  • With a sound understanding of the local entity underlying business, he/she will support an effective control environment and have a key role in the delivery of all controllership activities relative to the legal entity under his/her responsibility.
  • This includes Financial Accounting, Reporting and InternalControls.


As an Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for...


  • Acting as a main country contact for Finance and Accounting in India
  • Acting as a Key business partner for regional leadership where necessary
  • Being the main contact to local authorities re. different financial matters, including tax and treasury related matters.
  • Supporting the Finance organization during month-end closing activities
  • Analysis of Balance Sheet and Income Statement for entities under responsibility
  • Other compliance matters (e.g. Statistical/Central bank reporting)
  • Providing support for accounting matters related to projects with implications for the entities under responsibility
  • Supporting execution and maintenance of effective Internal Controls in line with the internal policies


What you already have...


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of statuary tax fillings and financial reporting requirements
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or chemical industry preferred
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and SAP software (S4 HANA)
  • Based in Vadodara, Gujarat
