Multi-Asset Solutions (“MAS”)

Multi-Asset Solutions is the multi-asset investing group within the Asset & Wealth Management Division at Goldman Sachs. MAS is responsible for developing investment strategies and comprehensive investment solutions tailored to meet the investment objectives and constraints of our clients. These solutions bring together state-of-the-art techniques in multi-asset portfolio design and implementation and reflect proprietary research and analytics conducted by the MAS team. We offer investment solutions both in commingled fund format and in discretionary mandates for asset owners across the globe, including some of the world’s largest and most sophisticated institutional investors. MAS is a global team comprised of professionals with deep and varied investment backgrounds. The team applies rigorous techniques to strategic and dynamic asset allocation, asset-liability analysis, portfolio design and implementation, risk management, and portfolio reporting and analytics. The team has been managing customized multi-asset class mandates since 1995 as a committed partner to corporate pensions, sovereign wealth funds, healthcare organizations, endowments, foundations, and government institutions

Performance Analytics

The MAS Performance Analytics team oversees client portfolio performance and attribution analytics, which are utilized in Investment Committee meetings and external client materials. The MAS team partners with distribution channels to help win and retain institutional and individual clients through marketing content, external branding, strategy updates, and performance reporting. The team has a strong focus on developing analytics to provide a comprehensive content suite that strengthens and supports these branding and client relationship efforts. Specifically, the role focuses on analysis of client performance and risk, producing client reports, onboarding new clients into MAS portfolios, and strategic projects.

Core Responsibilities

  • Performance Analytics – Work with various data sources to measure investment performance and quantify portfolio manager investment decisions.
  • Attention to detail – Demonstrates attention to detail and ability to multi task.
  • Technical skills – Demonstrates analytical skills through work and school. Experience in performance methodologies / analytics (i.e. attribution, benchmarking, tracking error, and risk decomposition) a plus.
  • Product Knowledge – Develop understanding of Multi Asset Solutions portfolio implementation, asset allocation and tactical tilt solutions
  • Investment diligence – Collaborate with internal business groups, internal operations teams, external managers and custodian banks to validate data integrity
  • Digital Strategy – Work with Engineering teams to build out digital strategy for client portal reviewing portfolio details and analytics

Skills & Experience We’re Looking For

  • 3.5 - 5 years of prior work experience in financial services industry, preferably in Portfolio Management support functions
  • Performance measurement, attribution and multi-asset class product knowledge
  • Interest in the financial services industry, desire to build knowledge of portfolio management and the markets
  • CIPM/CFA certifications, any level is an added advantage
  • Master's Degree or equivalent preferred
  • Strong project management skills including ability to organize and track multiple projects in parallel, delivery on tight timelines, and a hands-on approach to resolving issues
  • Ability to present and describe analytics to clients
  • Excellent communication skills (including writing, verbal, and presentation)
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment
  • Strong team player: ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across different functions and regions
  • Strong interpersonal skills: Ability to build trust and confidence of colleagues, strengthen relationships through ongoing dialog and interactions, and collaborate well with others internally to meet client needs
  • Highly organized; attention to detail and excellent follow-through required
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
